...Discussion from SFOFWFMTR...

The marine layer will compress to 1000 to 1500 feet tonight as high
pressure returns to the area. Locally elevated fire weather
conditions continue in the elevated terrain above 2000 ft with poor
overnight humidity recoveries and poor daytime humidity retention
between 15% to 25%. Good overnight humidity recoveries continue
below 2000 ft but drier conditions and poor to fair humidity
retention between 25% to 40% is expected during the daytime. Above
normal temperatures are expected Thursday and Friday with highs in
the upper 80s to low 100s across the interior. Locally breezy
onshore winds to around 25 mph continue through favored gaps and
passes, along the coast, and within the Salinas Valley.

...Discussion from SFOFWFEKA...

Tonight and Thursday conditions will start to transition back to
hot and dry. Offshore flow is expected to bring some dry air and
breezy northeast winds to the higher terrain overnight, especially
in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. This is expected both Thursday
and Friday morning. The hottest temperatures will start in the
south on Friday and work their way north on Saturday and Sunday.
Some relief in the temperatures is possible early next week, but it
is generally expected to remain hot. Winds are generally expected
to be light and terrain driven aside from the offshore winds in the
mornings.
