...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...
  Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD...

At 953 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of showers with
embedded thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30
knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from
near Alexandria to 21 nm west of Quantico, moving east at 10 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
