OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
854 PM CDT Mon Jul 15 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Showers and thunderstorms will cross the southern portions of the
lake into the overnight hours, as a cold front moves across
Wisconsin. Severe storms with strong winds are the primary hazard,
but large hail is also a concern. Strong storms are also expected
across the far northern portions of the lake.

Winds will be from the southwest ahead of the cold front, and
will turn to a northwesterly direction overnight into Tuesday
behind the cold front.

High pressure around 30.1 inches will sink south into the Great
Lakes region on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing quieter weather to
the region through the rest of the week. Winds will be from the
north to northwest on Wednesday. Winds will become lighter and
more variable on Friday, as the high moves eastward over the
lake.
