Coastal waters from Port Fourchon Louisiana to Lower Atchafalaya River LA from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 630 PM CDT. * At 522 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 23 nm southwest of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port to 42 nm south of Timbalier Island to 36 nm east of Ship Shoal 295, moving southeast at 10 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
