It was generally a cloudy and cool start to the weekend, though
some breaks of sun had developed across western and central
Nebraska late in the day. Afternoon temperatures generally remained
in the 60s, though it was a bit warmer north of Highway 2 and west
of Highway 61 where readings were generally into the 70s. Showers
and thunderstorms will move into the area from the panhandle with
potential for gusty winds, then spread across the region
overnight. Additional thunderstorms will develop on Sunday with
potential for severe storms by the afternoon and into the evening.
