.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 226 AM CDT Sun Jul 21 2024

A surface high pressure continues to linger over the Midwest today
into Monday. Keeping us in a mostly dry pattern for the weekend,
with some sprinkles not completely ruled out. There are 20% POPs for
Monday and Tuesday ahead of the system Wednesday. The greatest
chance for rain in the extended is now Wednesday afternoon with a 40-
50% chance of showers when a cold front is expected to sag south
across the CWA. The majority of the week will be dry but low end
POPs for isolated showers hang around through the end of the week.
Most of the showery activity will be pretty isolated with rainfall
amounts being minimal, some 0.25" amounts could occur in areas
impacted by a heavier shower.

Temperatures remain below normal through the next week. There will
be a warming trend near the end of the week, putting us back in the
heat game. The forecast highs are in the upper 70s to low 80s
through Friday. By next Saturday, highs will warm back up to the
upper 80s. The lows will be slightly below or near normal starting
tomorrow and lasting through the extended. Normal lows are in the
upper 60s. The forecast lows are in the low to mid 60s through
Friday night.
