A warm front extended from north central Kansas into east central
Kansas at mid-afternoon. Temperatures ranged from the mid-80s to
the lower 90s north of the front and from the mid-90s to around
100 degrees south of the front in southern Kansas. Heat indices
were as high as 110 degrees in southeast Kansas.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible through early
tonight as weak cold front moves southeastward across a portion of
mid-America. The best chances will stretch from southwest Iowa
across northeast and central sections of Kansas. The best chance
for a few strong or severe storms on Thursday will be from
Missouri into southeast Kansas and northern Oklahoma.

Low temperatures tonight will generally range from the mid-60s to
the upper 70s, except for cooler upper 50s to lower 60s in
western Nebraska and northwest Kansas. Highs on Thursday will
range from the 80s in Iowa and Nebraska with 90s across the rest
of the heartland.
