Runoff from recent rainfall caused river levels to rise rapidly on the Big Nance Creek at Courtland. Although it is not expected to reach flood stage, some nuisance flooding of lowlands may linger overnight. If additional rainfall occurs, the river could still reach Flood Stage. The Big Nance Creek at Courtland. * At 4:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.9 feet. * Action stage is 12.0 feet. * Flood stage is 14.0 feet. * Forecast...The river has fallen below action stage this afternoon and is expected to continue to fall to a stage of 11.0 feet Sunday morning. * Impact...At 12.0 feet...The river overflows on County Road 150 about three quarters of a mile upstream of the gage site...south of Courtland. All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect life and property from rising river levels.
