489 FNUS54 KHUN 130950 FWFHUN Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama National Weather Service Huntsville AL 450 AM CDT Sat Jul 13 2024 .DISCUSSION... High pressure at the surface and aloft will remain in place across the TN Valley from today-Sunday. Abundant sunshine throughout the late morning hours will allow for the development of a well-mixed boundary layer each afternoon, with dewpoints expected to fall as temperatures rise into the m-u 90s (yielding MinRH of 35-45%). A few high-based showers and thunderstorms may develop during the peak of the diurnal warming cycle both today and Sunday , but chances for wetting rainfall at any single location will remain quite low. Smoke dispersion indices will remain in the fair category this weekend, due largely to transport winds less than 5 MPH. In the extended period, a return to light SSW flow on Monday will result in rising dewpoints and higher MinRH values early next week. The coverage of afternoon/evening showers and storms will also begin to increase on Monday and should peak on Wednesday/Thursday as a slow-moving cold front spreads southeastward into the region before stalling. Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy mist/fog will be possible during the early morning hours from this morning through Tuesday morning. Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
