...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL DOLORES...WESTERN
ARCHULETA...SOUTHWESTERN HINSDALE...SOUTHERN SAN JUAN AND LA PLATA
COUNTIES THROUGH 1115 PM MDT...

At 1045 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Rico to near Durango to 10
miles east of Cedar Hill. Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio, Rico, Vallecito, Falfa, Allison, Arboles,
Rockwood, Tacoma, Tiffany, Hermosa, Trimble, Elk Park, and Oxford.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 550 in Colorado between mile markers 12 and 16, and
between mile markers 22 and 67.
 U.S. Highway 160 in Colorado between mile markers 84 and 126.
 Colorado 145 between mile markers 44 and 47.
 Colorado 151 between mile markers 1 and 32.
 Colorado 172 between mile markers 1 and 24.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
