...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT GILA AND COCONINO COUNTIES
THROUGH 230 PM MST...

At 155 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Tonto Village, or 9 miles northeast of Payson, moving southwest at 15
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Bear Flat, Fort McDonald, Tonto Village, East Verde Estates, Bonita
Creek Estates, Payson, Rumsey Park, Whispering Pines, Star Valley,
Flowing Springs, and Green Valley Park.

This includes the following highways...
 State Route 260 between mile markers 252 and 276.
 State Route 87 southbound between mile markers 248 and 251.
 State Route 87 between mile markers 248 and 258.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
