635 WGUS82 KCHS 081909 FLSCHS Flood Advisory National Weather Service Charleston SC 309 PM EDT Mon Jul 8 2024 GAC029-051-082115- /O.NEW.KCHS.FA.Y.0038.240708T1909Z-240708T2115Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Bryan GA-Chatham GA- 309 PM EDT Mon Jul 8 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Georgia, including the following counties, Bryan and Chatham. * WHEN...Until 515 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 308 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pooler, Richmond Hill, I-16/I-95 Interchange, Hunter Army Airfield, Windsor Forest, Savannah International Airport, Downtown Savannah, Coffee Bluff, Midtown Savannah and Godley Station. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
