Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
216 PM MDT Tue Aug 13 2024

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Wednesday...
Thunderstorms continue in the eastern plains until late evening.
Coverage of scattered afternoon storms and showers should be lower
Wednesday afternoon versus today. Although, the flash flooding
threat remains for sensitive burn areas. Diurnal storms should lead
to higher humidities Wednesday thus easing any fire weather
concerns.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday night through Sunday... There
will be isolated storms that form in the afternoon and evening on
Thursday and Friday. The weekend looks to be dry before a chance
for storms returns next work week. Beyond Thursday, there will be
a warming trend with lowering humidity. Minimum relative humidity
will drop to the teens across the plains and foothills Friday
through Sunday. There will be weak winds during this period which
will limit fire weather conditions but some of the higher areas in
the foothills may still gust to 20 mph. No critical fire weather
conditions are expected.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
