...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHERN CAROLINE AND
NORTHWESTERN ESSEX COUNTIES THROUGH 630 PM EDT...

At 538 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Fort Walker, or 7 miles north of Bowling Green, moving east at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Bowling Green, Port Royal, Fort Walker, Rappahannock Academy,
Villboro, Nancy Wrights Corner, Guinea, Corbin, Supply, Woodford, and
Cedon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
