...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN RIO ARRIBA AND
NORTHEASTERN SAN JUAN COUNTIES THROUGH 1115 PM MDT...

At 1048 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 10 miles southeast of Ignacio to 18 miles
southeast of Navajo Dam. Movement was east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Dulce, Navajo Dam, Heron Lake State Park, Navajo Lake State Park, and
Archuleta.

This includes Highway 64 between Mile Markers 79 and 137.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

Frequent dangerous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these
storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek
a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
