...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT ROOSEVELT...DE BACA...
NORTHEASTERN CHAVES...SOUTHWESTERN QUAY AND CURRY COUNTIES THROUGH
900 PM MDT...

At 833 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles southwest of Yeso to 8 miles west of
Bovina. Movement was south at 105 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Clovis, Portales, Fort Sumner, Texico, Melrose, Elida, Dora, Causey,
House, and Ranchvale.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 285 between Mile Markers 126 and 163.
 Highway 60 between Mile Markers 293 and 397.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibilities below one quarter mile at times.
