392 NOUS41 KWBC 171525 PNSWSH Public Information Statement 24-48 National Weather Service Headquarters Silver Spring MD 1125 AM EDT Wed Jul 17 2024 To: Subscribers: -NOAA Weather Wire Service -Emergency Managers Weather Information Network -NOAAPort Other NWS Partners, Users and Employees From: Mike Hopkins, Director Surface and Upper Air Division Office of Observations Subject: Re-commencement of Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) for the Replacement Temperature and Dewpoint Sensor for the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) during July 2024 The National Weather Service (NWS) is upgrading the air and dewpoint temperature sensors on the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS).The Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of the new sensor will begin during July 2024 and end during October 2024.
