429 FXUS64 KSHV 120257 AFDSHV Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Shreveport LA 957 PM CDT Thu Jul 11 2024 ...New UPDATE... .UPDATE... Issued at 957 PM CDT Thu Jul 11 2024 With the isolated showers that developed over Grant Parish late this afternoon having diminished with the setting sun, have updated the zones to remove pops for the remainder of the evening. Otherwise, a SW flow aloft ahead of upper trough noted on the evening water vapor imagery extending from WCntrl TX into Cntrl OK/Ozarks and across Lake MI will maintain elevated cigs over the Srn half of the region, which will limit the extent of radiational cooling despite the presence of weak sfc ridging in place. Thus, min temps tonight should be comparable to what was observed this morning, albeit a touch warmer given the slightly higher dewpoints particularly beneath these elevated cigs. This is reflected in the current forecast, and thus no additional changes were needed to the ongoing forecast. Zone update already out...grids will be available shortly. 15 && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 622 PM CDT Thu Jul 11 2024 For the 12/00Z TAFs, a few scattered showers across deep east Texas and northwest Louisiana airspace may bring isolated impacts, but should dissipate after sunset. The same can be said for the afternoon Cu field, which looks to thin out through the evening, with diminishing coverage as the period continues. The scattered cirrus clouds will track southwest to northeast overnight, followed by redevelopment of a Cu field by mid to late morning tomorrow. Returning scattered storms will be possible near the end of this forecast period, but confidence in coverage is not yet high enough to prevail. Winds will become light and variable overnight, before becoming southeasterly and southerly during the day tomorrow at sustained speeds not much exceeding 5 kts, with limited gusts across east Texas. /26/ && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
