...STRONG AND SLOW-MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT ANSON AND
CENTRAL RICHMOND COUNTIES THROUGH 1100 PM EDT...

At 1006 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of slow moving
thunderstorms producing heavy rain over Wadesboro, moving northeast
at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Heavy rain may produce localized
flooding especially in low-lying and poor drainage
         locations.

Locations impacted include...
Rockingham, Wadesboro, Hamlet, Ansonville, Polkton, Ellerbe,
Lilesville, Morven, Peachland, and McFarlan.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Very heavy rain can be expected due to the slow movement of this
storm. Prolonged heavy rain will result in ponding of water on
roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and minor flooding of
creeks and streams. Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra
caution to avoid hydroplaning.
