...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL GRANVILLE...
WAKE...SOUTHEASTERN DURHAM...NORTHEASTERN CHATHAM AND CENTRAL
FRANKLIN COUNTIES THROUGH 545 PM EDT...

At 444 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
RDU International, or 8 miles north of Raleigh, moving northeast at
5 mph. This storm was part of a cluster of storms stretching over
western Wake county into southern Franklin county.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Zebulon, Bunn, RDU
International, Apex, and Holly Springs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Dont wait until you see the first lightning flash before heading to
safety. Move indoors at the first sign of threatening skies or the
first sound of thunder. Deadly lightning strikes can occur well ahead
of an approaching storm, prior to the arrival of rain and wind. Make
sure that lightning is well away from your location before resuming
outdoor activity.
