099 FZUS63 KMQT 080155 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 955 PM EDT Sun Jul 7 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...As broad 30.0 inch ridging resides over the East Coast, a 29.9 inch low pressure trough is slowly moving east over Lake Superior tonight. This trough will dissipate by Monday night as much of the eastern CONUS is at arond 29.9 inches. Tuesday into Wednesday, high pressure over northern Ontario builds to 30.1 inches as the remnants of Beryl reach the southern Great Lakes basin at 29.7 inches by midday Wednesday. Beryl will dissipate by Friday and the 30.1 inch high will lift into the Hudson Bay as Lake Superior will be between the 30.4 inch Bermuda High and a broad 29.8 inch trough over the Great Plains.
