The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Arthur County in west central Nebraska...
  Southeastern Grant County in west central Nebraska...
  Southwestern Hooker County in west central Nebraska...
  Western McPherson County in west central Nebraska...

* Until 715 PM CDT/615 PM MDT/.

* At 624 PM CDT/524 PM MDT/, a severe thunderstorm was located near
  Swan Lake, or 18 miles northeast of Arthur, moving south at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Arthur, Swan Lake, Haythorn Lake, Lena, Sand Puddin Lake, Flatts,
  Cogill Lake, East Cody Lake, Calora, Green Lake, Bucktail Lake,
  Sand Beach Lake, Three Mile Lake, Diamond Bar Lake, Bucktail, and
  Schnick Lake.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 61 between mile markers 119 and 131.
 Highway 92 between mile markers 165 and 188.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
