Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
158 PM CDT Fri Jul 5 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain fairly low through early next week.
Cooler temperatures along with rain and thunderstorm chances
should preclude critical fire conditions. Potential for wetting
rains arrives early Saturday and lingers through Sunday. For now,
confidence is highest in central Nebraska seeing rainfall
exceeding a quarter inch but this may creep slightly west should
confidence in Sunday morning evolution increase.

Towards the middle and latter part of next week, upper-level
ridging will increase locally. This will support dry to mostly dry
conditions with increasing daily temperatures. Highs look to
return to above normal values around Thursday with further
increases into the following weekend possible.
