...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL RANKIN...EAST CENTRAL
HINDS AND SOUTH CENTRAL MADISON COUNTIES THROUGH 545 PM CDT...

At 447 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Pearl, moving northeast at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This strong thunderstorm will be near...
  Jackson, Brandon, and Flowood around 450 PM CDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near Ross Barnett Reservoir, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Boats could be damaged
or overturned in high winds and suddenly higher waves. Move to safe
shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
