Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
226 PM CDT Fri Jul 5 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A frontal boundary has initiated numerous showers & storms across
the region. These will persist through the evening, bringing good
wetting rains, with localized 2-4" possible. As the cold front
pushes southeast of the area this weekend, conditions will be
temporarily less humid & rain chances will become more focused
for fire districts southeast of the Natchez Trace while more
isolated to scattered to the northwest. The potential for late
night & early morning fog will be greatest over the Pine Belt
region, where patchy fog is possible tonight & again Saturday
night.
