...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN KENNEBEC...EAST
CENTRAL OXFORD...NORTHEASTERN ANDROSCOGGIN AND SOUTHEASTERN FRANKLIN
COUNTIES THROUGH 530 PM EDT...

At 503 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Canton, or 11 miles north of Turner, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Augusta, Turner, Jay, Belgrade, Livermore Falls, Manchester, Canton,
Winthrop, Leeds, Livermore, Chesterville, Hartford, Fayette, Wayne,
Rome, Mount Vernon, Readfield, Vienna, Sumner, and Peru.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
