...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN WICHITA...SOUTHERN
LOGAN AND GOVE COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM CDT...

At 529 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 5 miles north of Grainfield to 15 miles south
of Oakley to 11 miles west of Russell Springs. Movement was southeast
at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Strong thunderstorms will be near...
  Grainfield, Gove, and Park around 535 PM CDT.

This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 83 and
105.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Goodland.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for
west central Kansas.
