SOUTHERN RAWLINS AND NORTHEASTERN SHERMAN COUNTIES IN NORTHWESTERN KANSAS THROUGH 930 PM MDT/1030 PM CDT/... At 902 PM MDT/1002 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles southeast of Atwood to 5 miles southeast of McDonald to 10 miles north of St. Francis. Movement was south at 55 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... St. Francis and Bird City around 1010 PM CDT. Gem around 1020 PM CDT. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas near mile marker 55. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
