Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
421 AM EDT Fri Jul 5 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Despite some moisture return developing, another very hot day
is expected Friday with little-no appreciable rainfall. Winds
will strengthen out of the south, gusts up to 15 mph. Some
isolated showers-storms are possible across eastern GA this
evening, with rain chances decreasing further east. An
approaching front will yield higher rain chances across the
entire area on Saturday and winds will still remain out of the
south into next week as the front will never fully push through.
Widespread moderate drought conditions continue across central
and southeastern SC, so elevated fire danger conditions will
persist until there are widespread wetting rains.

Fog potential for tonight: Some fog and low stratus possible
tonight particularly in the CSRA.
