This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwestern Connecticut,
western Massachusetts, east central and eastern New York and
southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

There is a chance for thunderstorms today, especially for areas south
of the Capital Region. The threat for a thunderstorm will continue
for tonight for the entire area. Any thunderstorm will be capable of
producing heavy downpours, which may result in ponding of water in
urban and low lying areas.

Heat index values will be close to advisory criteria this afternoon
within the Capital Region and mid Hudson Valley. While heat index
values look just shy of necessitating a Heat Advisory, caution is
still urged for anyone spending time outdoors in order to avoid heat
related illnesses.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

With a cold front moving across the region, additional thunderstorms
are possible on Saturday. The main threat with any storms will be
heavy downpours capable of causing localized flooding in urban and
poor drainage areas.

Heat index values will again be close to Heat Advisory on Saturday
within the Capital Region and mid Hudson Valley. If confidence
increases, a Heat Advisory could be needed.

More thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday, mainly
during the afternoon and evening hours.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are encouraged to pass along any reports of flooding to the
National Weather Service via phone, email or social media.
