312 AM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024 /212 AM MDT Fri Jul 12 2024/

A surface trough across western SD will be a focus for potential
shower and thunderstorm activity this evening over central SD. A few
of these storms could become strong to severe. Northeastern SD into
west central MN have the potential for showers and thunderstorms this
evening through the early overnight hours as well. An area of low
pressure combined with an unstable air will bring a threat for strong
to severe storms across the region Saturday evening.

It will be hot and muggy through the weekend as highs today will
range from the upper 80s to mid 90s for most locations. Widespread
90s can be expected this weekend, with heat indices approaching 100
degrees for some areas.
