...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM MDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL SANTA FE AND WEST CENTRAL SAN MIGUEL
COUNTIES...

At 316 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.75 inches of rain
have fallen along I-25 at and southeast of Rowe. Additional rainfall
amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  South San Ysidro and North San Ysidro.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 285 between Mile Markers 278 and 280.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 309 and 319.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water
crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
