809 WWUS20 KWNS 032140 SEL3 SPC WW 032140 SDZ000-040300- URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 503 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 345 PM MDT Wed Jul 3 2024 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Southwest South Dakota * Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 345 PM until 900 PM MDT. * Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible A tornado or two possible SUMMARY...A cluster of thunderstorms west of the Black Hills will track east-southeastward across the watch area through the early evening, posing a risk of damaging winds and large hail. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles north and south of a line from 55 miles west southwest of Rapid City SD to 40 miles south southeast of Philip SD.
