This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Primarily along and north of Interstate 40.
ONSET...Late afternoon.

HEAVY RAIN.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Northeast Oklahoma and far Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Evening.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Significant.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Afternoon.

DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms are ongoing early this morning
across northeast Oklahoma and these storms may persist
into early afternoon while slowly spreading eastward.
Additional storms are possible by late afternoon across
northeast Oklahoma and far northwest Arkansas. These
storms would have risk of locally damaging winds.
Overnight the coverage of thunderstorms is expected to
increase along and north of Interstate 40. A few strong
to severe storms are possible along with locally heavy
rainfall. Additionally, hot and humid conditions will
continue this afternoon with afternoon heat index
values of 105 to 110 degrees.

SATURDAY through MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Showers and thunderstorms are likely to be ongoing
early Wednesday as they spread southward as a cold front
moves into the region. Thunderstorms may persist across
far southeast Oklahoma into Thursday, otherwise much
cooler temperatures are expected behind the passing cold
front. The weather pattern over the weekend into
early next week will become favorable for daily
thunderstorm chances and temperatures below normal
for mid July.
