At 1042 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mainly west of a
Miami to Muskogee line. Thunderstorms with locally heavy rain were
located in Creek, Osage and Pawnee counties in Oklahoma. The
precipitation was in the Tulsa area. Movement was to the northeast
at around 15 mph. The average amount where it rained last hour was
around one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of an inch to an
inch and a half. Coverage, and intensity increased during the last
hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late this morning and into this
afternoon, partly sunny, showers likely and a chance of
thunderstorms with temperatures 81 to 88 degrees and south winds 5
to 10 mph.
