214 WGUS83 KTOP 120934 FLSTOP Flood Advisory National Weather Service Topeka KS 434 AM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024 KSC059-121245- /O.NEW.KTOP.FA.Y.0037.240712T0934Z-240712T1245Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Franklin KS- 434 AM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 AM CDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Kansas, including the following county, Franklin. * WHEN...Until 745 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 434 AM CDT, the public reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pomona. - This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 175 and 180. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
