Expect warm to hot weather to continue through midweek as upper level ridging remains in place, with mostly mountain showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoons. Storms will need to be monitored for gusty and erratic winds in addition to the lightning. Heat will build through midweek, with many lower elevation locations seeing temperatures reach the upper 90s to low 100s with RH values dipping into the teens. This ridge will break down on Thursday, bringing a chance for scattered to widespread thunderstorms with gusty winds also expected through the day.
