Surf Zone Forecast
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL
413 AM EDT Thu Jul 11 2024

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

Early this morning, the buoy located about 90 miles south-southeast
of Apalachicola was reporting a southwesterly swell of 2 to 3 feet at
6 to 8 seconds. This lingering southwesterly swell will be enough to
support a continuation of high rip current risk along the south- and
southwest-facing beaches of Walton, Bay, and Gulf Counties through
tonight, and possibly for one more day on Friday. The risk will be
highest during the onshore seabreeze in the afternoon. Rip risk will
decidedly settle down starting Saturday.
