602 FZUS52 KTAE 191535 SRFTAE Surf Zone Forecast National Weather Service Tallahassee FL 1135 AM EDT Fri Jul 19 2024 .THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK... Offshore buoys were reporting light SW winds with 1-ft seas and a mean wave period of 5 seconds late this morning. Web cams also show minimal surf. As a result, the forecast of a moderate risk of rip currents remains in good shape. Locally higher winds and surf are possible in the vicinity of any thunderstorms, so be vigilant especially at the Panhandle beaches. Moderate risk for rip currents likely continues into the weekend with increased rip current risk early next week.
