.DISCUSSION...A monsoon surge will keep the threat of showers and
thunderstorms in the forecast through the weekend and into early
next week. Any thunderstorms will be capable of heavy rain, gusty
outflow winds and lightning. Precipitation totals of 0.10 to 0.20
inches are most likely today, with a 20% chance amounts will
exceed 0.20 inches. Winds are expected to remain relatively light,
though southwest winds have been gusty on exposed ridgetops above
about 10,000 feet overnight. Overnight recoveries will continue
to be good to excellent.

Outflow winds will also be a concern today near thunderstorms,
with gusts in excess of 35 mph possible near any thunderstorms.

A higher chance of heavy precipitation is expected on Sunday.
Precipitation totals of 0.20-0.30 are most likely, though there is
a 10% chance of as much as 0.70 inches.
