As a ridge of high pressure continues to shift overhead, winds will lighten and temperatures will rise through at least Thursday. Thus, expected continued poor overnight recoveries, with Max RH struggling to reach 20%. Broad northwesterly to northerly flow will continue, with largely terrain-driven winds expected within drainages. .MONDAY... Sky/weather.........Mostly sunny (5-15 percent cloud cover). Max temperature.....Upper Elevations: 67-72. Lower Elevations: 78-83. Min humidity........Upper Elevations: 9-14 percent. Lower Elevations: 7-12 percent. Wind (20 ft)........Ridges: North to northwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Slopes/drainages: Terrain-driven winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 15 mph out of the north in aligned drainages. High pressure moving overhead will produce a long-duration heatwave across the area with hot temperatures around 15 degrees above normal for this time of year. Dry conditions will also continue, with poor overnight recoveries and critically dry RH during the daytime. By Friday, in contrast to our recent weather, moisture will begin to overspread the region and especially southern Utah, bringing the chance for isolated dry lightning and gusty outflow winds on Friday. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase through the weekend, with relative humidities also gradually increasing. .WEDNESDAY... Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 60s. Highs in the upper 80s at low elevations and mid 70s at upper elevations. Humidity in the upper single digits to low-teens with poor overnight recoveries.
