...New SHORT TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Monday)
Issued at 144 PM CDT Sun Jul 14 2024

The upper high pressure will be centered over the southern
Rockies through Monday, with West Texas remaining on the eastern
periphery of the high through Monday. This will keep our area
dry, with mostly clear skies and above normal temperatures
tomorrow. Breezy south winds will prevail this afternoon but
will subside by early evening. Lows tonight will be in the low
to mid 70s. South winds will become breezy again by mid to late
morning tomorrow, with afternoon highs ranging from the upper
90s over southern sections, to low 100s (100-104 degrees)
elsewhere.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Monday night through next Sunday)
Issued at 101 PM CDT Sun Jul 14 2024

Very warm temperatures will continue Tuesday and Wednesday, as a
lee trough brings south to south winds, and allows highs in the
97 to 103 degree range. The warmest readings will be in the Concho
Valley and Big Country. Temperatures should be just below heat
advisory criteria of 105 degrees.

Upper ridging over the Southwest United States will build
northward the second half of the week, bringing West Central Texas
under an upper trough, and giving the region a chance of showers
and thunderstorms. A weak cold front may also move in Thursday
bringing in some low level lift and help with storm development.
