Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo TX
203 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024

...New SHORT TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Saturday)
Issued at 201 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024

Cumulus field has developed along/south of an Ozona to Brady to
San Saba line this afternoon. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms
still possible, but should dissipate by 7 PM CDT.

Upper trough/shear axis over South Texas Saturday expected to
expand slightly northward. This will bring the potential for
scattered thunderstorms in the NW Hill Country, and at least
isolated thunderstorms into the Concho Valley, Coleman and
Brownwood counties in the afternoon. Temperatures will be a degree
or two cooler Saturday (less hot) especially along the I-10
corridor.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday night through next Friday)
Issued at 147 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024

The upper ridge will remain centered over the Desert Southwest
through the extended period, with a weakness aloft persisting
over our area through the period. Isolated to widely scattered
diurnal convection will be possible over southwest portions of
the forecast area Sunday through Tuesday. May see a little better
coverage across the rest of the area towards the end of the week,
but there is quite a bit of uncertainty this far out, so will
keep POPs on the low side.

Temperatures from Sunday through mid week will range from the
upper 90s to around 100 degrees across the Big Country, to the
low to mid 90s across southern sections where more cloud cover
is expected. Temperatures will be a bit cooler towards the end
of the week, with highs in the low to upper 90s.

.AVIATION...
