Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
430 AM CDT Fri Jul 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Cooler but more unsettled conditions will continue across portions
of the region today through the first half of the weekend, as an
upper level disturbance over Upper Southeast Texas and Central
Louisiana continues to focus scattered showers and a few thunderstorms
over portions of Deep East Texas and Northcentral Louisiana today,
before diminishing by this evening. Brief heavy rainfall will
accompany the stronger storms mainly this morning, before diminishing
in the afternoon as the parent disturbance begins to shift
southeast out of the region. Min RH`s will remain abnormally high
today, ranging from 50-65+%, although lower RH`s are expected
Saturday with stronger heating, ranging from 45-55%. Any showers and
thunderstorms Saturday should be more isolated to widely scattered
over Deep East Texas and the Southern/Eastern sections of Northcentral
Louisiana, before scattered showers and thunderstorms increase
across the region Sunday, becoming more numerous through the first
half of the new work week especially as a weak surface front becomes
stationary to the northwest of the area, and an upper level disturbance
lingers from North Texas across the region. The increased cloud cover
and rainfall will result in below normal temperatures areawide
through much of next week.
