922 FXUS64 KSHV 130257 AFDSHV Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Shreveport LA 957 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024 ...New UPDATE... .UPDATE... Issued at 957 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024 With the early evening convection having diminishing with the setting sun, have removed pops from the forecast this evening across Deep E TX and the Srn sections of NCntrl LA. Otherwise, elevated cloud cover will persist tonight in VC of a weak inverted mid-level trough aloft extending from SE and Deep E TX into Wrn LA. These cigs will help slow the radiational cooling in place, with temps expected to fall to near if not slightly warmer than what was observed this morning. Thus, the forecast mins remain in good shape, with the potential for more in the way of widely scattered convection over the region especially during the afternoon Saturday, which should help to limit the extent of warming compared to what the progs were indicating Thursday evening. Zone update already out...grids will be available shortly. 15 && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 613 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024 For the 13/00Z TAFs, a few very isolated pockets of thunder tracking northwest towards the I-20 corridor in east Texas look to dissipate quickly after sundown, along with the 5K Cu field which has dominated area skies this afternoon. SCT to BKN mid to high level cloud decks look to remain overnight, however, with the possibility of thinning out in coverage towards daybreak. Returning Cu field expected during the mid-morning, with scattered showers and storms once again in the afternoon hours across our southern counties and parishes. Southerly winds becoming southwesterly will remain relatively light throughout, at sustained speeds not much exceeding 5 kts, and limited gusts, if any. /26/ && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
