A gradual cooling trend but still very warm daytime high in the
lower to mid 90s for valleys and foothills east of I-15 and 97 to
104F for the Inland Empire. Becoming muggier over the weekend.

...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures 105 to
  110 on Friday and not as severe with highs 100 to 105 on Saturday.
  Lows in the 70s.

* WHERE...Apple and Lucerne Valleys.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM PDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Major heat risk.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

  Still very warm overnight lows in the 80s.

* WHERE...Coachella Valley and San Diego County Deserts.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM PDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Major heat risk.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
