133 FNUS56 KSGX 071015 FWFSGX Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southwestern California National Weather Service San Diego CA 315 AM PDT Sun Jul 7 2024 .DISCUSSION... An area of high pressure will dominate the weather pattern over the next week, leading to hot conditions inland. Areas along and west of the mountains will see slightly cooler weather today and Monday. Greater onshore flow will also occur with afternoon and evening wind gusts mainly near 20-30 MPH in the mountains and deserts, locally higher in the San Gorgonio Pass, leading to elevated fire weather conditions. A drying trend will occur now into Wednesday, with relative humidity values lowering consecutively each afternoon with most mountainous and desert areas seeing values below 15 percent. Monsoonal moisture will increase by later this week, where small chances for showers and thunderstorms evolve across the mountains and deserts by next weekend. The marine layer will stay fairly consistent through the week with areas near the coast and adjacent valleys seeing night and morning low clouds each day with patchy morning fog over elevated terrain.
