...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN CHEROKEE...NEWTON
AND SOUTHERN JASPER COUNTIES THROUGH 630 AM CDT...

At 554 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Baxter Springs, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Joplin, Carthage, Neosho, Webb City, Carl Junction, Baxter Springs,
Galena, Granby, Carterville, Duquesne, Duenweg, Diamond, Loma Linda,
Airport Drive, Leawood, Lowell, Silver Creek, Shoal Creek Drive,
Saginaw, and Fidelity.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 44 between mile markers 0 and 27.
 Interstate 49 between mile markers 16 and 40.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
