This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Significant excessive heat risk.

DISCUSSION...

Afternoon heat index values will range from 103 to 109 degrees.

There is a 20 to 30 percent chance of a thunderstorm after 3 am
across southeast Kansas and locations along and north of
Interstate 44 in Missouri.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Afternoon heat index values will range from 100 to 108 degrees
Tuesday.

Showers and thunderstorms could linger Tuesday morning with
additional thunderstorms east of Springfield during the afternoon.
If the afternoon storms form, a few could be severe with damaging
winds the main hazard.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms (60-80% chances) then look
to move through the area Tuesday night through Wednesday. A few
severe storms with damaging winds could occur along with localized
flash flooding.

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
