705 FXUS63 KSGF 092300 AFDSGF Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Springfield MO 600 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 .KEY MESSAGES... - Rainfall associated with the remnants of Beryl will move off to the east - Fog to develop tonight as skies clear and winds become light - Return to warmer temperatures with highs tomorrow in the middle 80s warming well into the 90s this weekend && .SHORT TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... Issued at 256 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 Remaining rainfall over the eastern Ozarks will come to an end during the late afternoon as the remnants of Beryl exit into the Ohio Valley. A few showers and thunderstorms may possibly reform within an inverted trough containing higher dew points. With rainfall from this scattered convection being light, no additional flood impacts are expected and the Flood Watch will be expired as the rain ends. The cloud shield will hang behind the rain shield though west to east clearing is also expected setting up good radiational cooling as winds weaken. With grounds remaining wet, light fog is likely to form overnight as temperatures are forecast to drop below current dew points. Wednesday - the upper trough that aided in the widespread rainfall will have the trough axis also pass east though a shortwave currently descending down an elongated western high pressure ridge into the central Plains. Rainfall chances (10-20%) will be limited to the northern sections of the forecast area. Temperatures will respond to sunshine and climb back through the 80s with more warming to come. && .LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/... Issued at 256 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 Heights will climb through the latter half of the work week as the western upper ridge of high pressure flattens eastward. There will be ripples as shortwaves flow across the northern periphery of the ridge into the weekend. Temperatures warming with the rising heights along with climbing dew points on southerly winds will result in heat health concerns into the weekend. && .AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z THURSDAY/... Issued at 600 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 A few isolated showers and thunderstorms continue to linger across southwest Missouri, before dissipating after sunset. Confidence is low on impacts at the terminals. Winds become light and variable tonight through Wednesday morning, before turning more northwesterly through late Wednesday morning into the afternoon some daytime cumulus. && .SGF WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
